“Portugal`s premier metal band!”, boasts the biography. If this is indeed the case the metal-scene in Portugal is dead or dying. Sacred Sin plays a unique style of death metal and unique isn’t meant in a positive way. It’s a weird combination of Morbid Angel with some black metal touches, completed with a soprano and a lot of bad ideas.
I really don`t understand what someone sees in this less than mediocre band. If this was the first demo made by a young starting band I maybe would have liked it a bit more because when you`re young you make mistakes and demo’s are more or less a try out for the real stuff. However, Sacred Sin claims to be a grown up band, already recorded 5 full lengths and toured Europe a couple of times. | |
They should be ashamed to release such a shitty album. Almost everything on Hekatón is of low quality, the grunt is too weak, the soprano is off key and utterly annoying, the riffs are too simple, the production is of a demo-quality and even worse, they dared to desecrate 2 tracks of legendary death metal bands (“Spiritual Healing” by Death and “Day Of Suffering” by Morbid Angel). This album is a total waste of money and I recommend everyone to not buy this album, there are a million better albums you can purchase.
