Decades Of Denial is filled with catchy riffs and clean and melodic vocals. Most songs are well wrought and the production is up to scratch as well. Influenced by Fear Factory and Life Of Agony as well as nu metal and hardcore Badly Preserved have an open mind and dare to show emotion. Of course there are some weaker sides to the record. The ballad like “Running On Empty” for instance just isn’t all that so to speak. | |
Singer/guitarist L-Tone’s singing voice is very good and gives the music a kind of hardcore or even emo feel. When he starts rapping he isn’t convincing. The band has the guts to be varied though and for that alone they deserve respect. An impressive debut album. (Walter) |
