Finally, Exhumed with “Anatomy Is Destiny”. It took these American death gore maniacs some time to come up with a new full length. And for those who thought it couldn’t get better after “Slaughtercult”: you’re wrong. “Anatomy Is Destiny” has become a varied release containing a mixture of death, grind and even some fine thrash metal (“The Matter Of Splatter”). It certainly isn’t simply copying “Slaughtercult”. The songs have become more varied in their structure and also the band’s technique has become more complicated. Songs like “Anatomy Is Destiny”, “Under The Knife” or “A Song For The Dead” prove that you can combine different styles of extreme metal without sounding too forced. | |
It also sounds very natural and you even could say they have created their own style. Of course the splatter gore lyrics are present this time, discussing things you wouldn’t discuss over dinner, but it fits Exhumed perfectly. “Anatomy Is Destiny” was produced by Neil Kernon (Judas Priest, Cannibal Corpse and Nevermore), and sounds really fat. This really is food for the extreme metal fan. And watch out for some fine split releases of Exhumed soon! (Teun) |
