A drummer with so much creativity within himself that he decides to start a one man led project under the name of Shadeworks...next to his two bands in which he also sits behind the drumkit (Obsidian and Icy Winds) Arnaud Nicolas developed this project through two earlier released demo`s to this point; a 16 track CD demo called `Sooty Limbs`. It doesn`t sound appropiatly produced yet but this Cd demo is certainly impressive. Dark and Athmospheric Metal is what Shadeworks is about and at some times it reminds me of Anathema. It also bents towards Gothic Metal here and there by the way. Best song is the last one to my taste (`Silky Birds`), the combination with the calm and eased male voice with The Gathering (`Always`) like female voice of Fae (Icy Winds singer) and the mesmerizing guitarline gives me the indication that this one man project must be given the chance to develop itself further to a real band.

The intention and wish is there to record a full album, here`s a hint; add a few inspiring musicians to form a strong line up, do a couple of showcases here and there and then a label out there will surely be interested, I`m very sure. Remember the name: Shadeworks.
