I was going to give the album 2 points out of 10 for the heart warming story that accompanies this CD but then I took it away because he shouldn`t use the emotions of people to sell this.
It`s not that this record is bad, it`s that it`s SO bad that I`m now afraid of Norwegians. This has to be some of the worst crap I`ve heard since Rolf Harris covered “Stairway to heaven”..(the bastard!). From the moment I popped the CD into the unlucky CD player I was actually cringing as a result of this piece of work. The record comes with the heart-warming story of a bed-bound Norwegian (Morten Holm) who started to write songs as an outlet for his non-eventful life. Unfortunately it seems he has managed to put 13 years of his boredom onto this one CD !
In summary:
1) The entire album sounds like reject pop-rock from the eighties. | |
2) Lyrics are about as inspiring as watching a puddle of water drying in summer.
3) The music (guitars that border on country music and bland sterile drum beats) is repetitive throughout the whole CD. (Well I`m lying actually, cause I could only stand to listen to track 7, at which point my girlfriend had to coax me back off the 3rd floor window-ledge to face life again.)
4) Jesus Christ, you actually need a fourth point??
If you see this in a record store I suggest buying it and burning it in ritualistic form...I`m off to listen to Carcass for 12 hours to recover from the horror that I`ve just experienced! (Mark) |
