Some punky, no-nonsense, heavy rock & roll from Charlotte, NC. Traditional seventies riffs in the line of Hellacopters, or even Hard Ons. This power trio wants to shock the world with heavy common riffs, lyrics about women and booze, and bad taste cover art. The songs are quite all right, not really original, but with some beer and a party mood, this should be acceptable. The vocals on the other hand make it a bit boring, when you’re listening at home. The half spoken, half (alcohol drowned?) sung lyrics almost sound like a rap, which makes the songs sound the same overall.

A typical blues scale with this kind of vocals (listen to “Bastards Breed Bastards”) sounds quite unusual to say the least. One happy moment for me was the guitar solo in “Call Me The Punisher”, which sounds pretty good. For the people who really like this stuff, I can mention the fact that Dead Kings also appear on an Alice Cooper tribute album; “Thinking Of Alice”. Beside their version of “Muscle Of Love”, there are some other bands in the same line giving their versions of (old) Alice Cooper songs. This album is also available on Scatboy Records.
