The kind of music Incense brings is rather hard to describe. Noise Rock? Emo Noise?? Alternative Guitar Rock??? Definitely!!! But Incense is not your average happy, easy digestible rock. No, it’s moody and full of emotion. Sometimes weird song structures (More days TC) sometimes fragile (See you, saw you, miss you, kill you) sometimes very raw and speedy like you might expect from a power trio (Too far gone). Or all of the above in one song (Embrace) that takes you on a trip for 9 minutes.

The trio (Selwyn Slop, guitars/vocals; Remco Cornelissen, drums; Bart Baekelandt, bass) has quite a formidable live reputation, resulting in several won contests and the GP of the Netherlands for newcoming bands. Despite the curse that seems to rest on the GPN winners, Incense will be heard of in the future. Also, watch out for the LP (vinyl) version of this album.
