They have kept us waiting since ’96, but they’re back at last: Luciferion are releasing their second album, The Apostate. I thought this band was already among the ‘Eternal Fields Of Legendary Bands’, but they’ve descended down to attack the world once more. And if you thought their first album was killer, you will be blown away with what they’ve produced this time! This CD is divided in two parts. The first chapter is The Apostate itself, which I would like to describe as very technical death metal, with synthesizer music in the vein of Limbonic Art, to name a band. The balance between incredible solos, catchy though technical riffs and eerie atmosphere is absolutely brilliant! I have no words for this, you have to listen it for yourself.

But be prepared, this is highly addictive. And this is only the first part of the album. Thereafter follows a not too original cover (Celtic Frost’s “Circle Of The Tyrants”), but their tribute to the Gods of the eighties gives an other dimension to this song. And what remains on this CD are five songs from the Demonication album in a new version. They were on a demo/promo tape, but I don’t know from what time they date. The only real difference with the original ones is that these have more atmosphere, just like the rest of this album. I remain speechless. I only hope they won’t let us wait for years again.
