After three years the Alcoholic Society have released a new album. Although they are reasonably successful in their homeland Spain they aren’t very well known in the rest of the world. Judging this record I don’t think that will change that much. And although they sing in Spanish I don’t think that is what will keep them from breaking through outside of Spain. The music just isn’t all that original. Not that it’s a bad record, not at all, it’s just that I’ve heard it all before.

Straight forward metal/hardcore in the vein of mid nineties Sepultura, Biohazard and Pro-Pain. Sing-a-long choruses (if you speak Spanish of course) and catchy riffs combined with tight playing and a good sound; as I said it’s definitely a good band. But to make it on the international market they should develop their own sound and style. For those who are really into the genre only.
