Wednesday morning. I look in my mailbox and I find a cd of Synasthasia. Never heard of it. Well, let’s see what the biography says; ‘recorded and mixed with a 16-channel multitracker from Fostex’. Wow. Now they are in my coolbook. Fuck that shit. Well, I find out they are a German band and originally played a style which was a mix of grunge and metal.

First things first: this album has NOTHING to do with grunge. They are as grunge as Limp Bizkit is metal. Metal ok. German metal. That means: heavy metal (what did you expect from a band name like Synasthasia). And dragon-fantasy heavy metal.

The metal I dislike. I still can’t take a band serious with songtitles like “The Attack”, “Quest For The Dharacle”, “Salvation From The Curse”.

Maybe Hammerfall, Blind Guardian or Rhapsody fans will dig this shizzle, but it’s nothing for me. There is nothing wrong with the music. It’s a mix of old school heavy metal with some kind of modern twist to it, but this kind of music just keeps irritating me. The vocals only make it worse. Imagine a mix of Rhapsody’s singer and Bruce Dickinson. Anyone who likes to receive this album for free can send me an e-mail.
