Most thrash fans among us know this German death thrash formation. For those of you who don’t know Dew-Scented, a short summary. Dew-Scented started in 1992, but it really began with the release of “Immortelle” in 1996 and “Innocent” in 1998. They started to become an often seen guest in a lot of cool death and thrash metal tour packages with the likes of Morbid Angel, Overkill, Vader, Sadist, Kreator and many others. And now after the release of their third and fourth album (“Ill-Natured” `99, “Inwards” `02) it’s time for their sixth. And what a jewel this is. A thrash grenade that goes on and on. With great aggression combined with melody Dew-Scented found kind of their own sound.

The German thrash feel combined with the melodies we all could have heard from bands as The Haunted, Slayer or the old Soilwork for instance. Great. On the other hand Dew-Scented also found time in their songs to take the pedal of the metal for some fine mid-tempo head bang parts (“Soulpoison”, “Cities Of The Dead”). This also provides “Impact” with variety. Vocally the more thrash howl and the Slayer like song lines (“18-hours”) fit the music perfectly. After a minor performance on Wacken this year (p.a. sound) I was waiting for this one to come. And it makes it all good again. Go check this one out.
