Second Chance’s second album. However not a second chance. With a convincing debut in their pocket, the band had to come in strong with their sophomore album. And they did. Tides May Turn is the title; 14 tracks of old school hardcore (with a smudge of punk) is the game. Again very convincing with highlights like “Make Amends”, “Straight Edge Is A Waste”, Progress Or Poverty?” and “We Don’t Care”.

What makes the album so convincing is the one thing many hardcore bands these days lack. Variation. Sing along, furious, melody, you name it. With all my compliments to singer Ronald who lifts the band’s adult sound to a higher level, adding that certain something a hardcore band these days needs to be different than the masses. Check this band out.
