An emo band for every town. From Marshall, Minnesota this is Small Brown Bike. This description does not do the band justice however. Sure, every town has a band but Small Brown Bike have outgrown the city limits of Marshall, MI a long time ago. They dove into the trenches, released two albums and are now ready to push The River Bed to a larger audience.
Sticking your head above the dense trenches of emo post rock USA is not only brave, it is most of all a quest of its own. A quest that Small Brown Bike seem to take effortlessly. With amazing ease and raw pure emotions the band slammed ten amazing fresh songs on CD. | |
From the ever melodic “Safe In Sound” to the melancholic “A Decleration Of Sorts”; it all sparks and glimmers.
There’s a tantalizing freshness in their sound, an addictive quality. The River Bed is one of those albums you want to listen to again and again. Singer Mike Reed’s voice is very helpful in this. Together with the raw production The River Bed makes sure that even after the first spin, when all the pieces of the puzzle still have to find their own place it takes an enjoyable hold of you.
