Convicted is the second re-release of Cryptic Slaughter by Relapse next to Money Talks. It doesn’t make much sense to re-release two separate albums. Must be a marketing thing. Anyway. Cult from the eighties is always welcome in my mailbox. I can still clearly remember all the chaotic shows from back then. Speedcore bands like Wehrmacht, DRI and Spazztic Blurr creating true rampage on stage with their speed fuelled songs and rattling performances, gapping the bridge between punk hardcore and metal. | |
Truly underground at its best and the fastest drumming ever before the blast beat.
Convicted doesn’t really offer you anything new (besides perhaps the Live In Grave demo and the few live tracks). Although the younger generation hardcore thrash fans should at least have a copy of this somewhere. For all the old fans who only have the vinyl or copied tape versions this re-release could be a nice upgrade. Otherwise Convicted is nothing more than a reminiscence of the colorful eighties.
