People sometimes ask why to compare a style of a band to other bands. Well, because it is sometimes hard to paint a textual landscape to describe a style that bands are playing in. The same goes for this release by Germany`s Shylock. I can say melodic rock, but that simply doesn`t cut it. When I mention a mix between Scorpions and (early) Bon Jovi you should get a certain image of it. High strung vocals, good guitarwork with a nice keyboard intertwined. This well produced album sounds inspired but because this is only their second album I think they can evolve themselve to a higher level.

At certain points my attention fades a bit, Shylock should try to experiment a bit more musically wise, the potential certainly is there. MTM Music has a lot of these bands under contract, promising and young talented bands I really hope that they stimulate the bands too be extra creative to gain an own identity, the band A.C.T. is a good example. Shylock can be just as well original with some extra efforts put in. Now let`s see what the album number 3 brings them and us..
