Roaring guitars, a stumping rhythm section, and a powerful throat, that’s what these boys want to produce, and that’s exactly what they do. Something new? No, it’s been done millions of times, but these guys know how to do it. They have been listening very well to established bands; from Soundgarden to Placebo.

The musicians know what they’re doing, and the songs are easy to consume. Maybe they even enjoyed their stay in the studio too much. The sound is thick, but the added violins and orchestras are overdone at times. The choice of songs is debatable, because almost half of this CD consists of (similar sounding) ballads; also a pity that the studio version of “Elaine” does not overwhelm as much as it does live.

The multiple vocals are pretty good in most songs, but the over the top “emotional” lead vocal parts cannot really convince.

Let’s be honest: not too many good bands from The Netherlands get through to the major labels, and get a chance to prove themselves. A new hope for the Dutch rock scene? Time will tell. With the right video clip (which is already made), you never know.
