Skid Row is back! Founders Rachel Bolan, Scotti Hill, and Snake Sabo have reunited, and found a new singer and drummer. Johnny Solinger is the new singer, and Phil Varone took place behind the drum kit. This is some steaming and pumpin’ rock with roots in the best eighties tradition, but with quite a few updates, production wise, as well as in song writing.
The album starts with heavy Marilyn Manson like riffs, and a lead guitar that sounds like Zakk Wylde. | |
As a whole the album is pretty varied: enough melody, and even some beautiful laid back work is present. The guys have clearly listened to leading modern bands like Live and Nickelback, and added these influences to their years of experience. Lets hope this album will not be marked as a trend follower.
