These two very skilled and devoted musicians (and their band) are highly respected by a very small but dedicated group of followers. The crystal clear vocals in combination with the mellow Hendrix-like guitar tones remind me of Robin Trower, or even Greg Lake at times.
The album contains a wide range of songs from bluesy rockin’ to some jazzy and funky stuff. The complicated technique sometimes overwhelms the “soul” in the funky parts, but despite this overload of guitar technique, the performance on this album is of a extreme high quality. | |
The bass, drums, and organ do exactly what they’re supposed to do in addition to the songs, the vocals are superb in a laid back kind of a way, and the guitars remember me once again why I wanted to learn to play guitar.
Production could have been a bit less clean to strengthen the expression. Performed live, this music can tear the roof off!
