Again something new from metal land. It will surely be incorrect to suggest that Switzerland doesn’t count when it comes to metal. However, the name is Godiva and they really are something. Godiva recorded their first three track demo in 2001 and this is their first full length album. The group has four members. Anthony de Angelis on vocals: as charismatic as Alice Cooper. He kinda reminds me of the singers in Primal Fear and Judas Priest. Peter Gander and Mitch Koontz take care of the band’s ruthless rhythm and Sammy Lasagani is responsible for all the guitar explosions.

These four guys have a lot of potential. The combination of experience and very good musicianship make the songs special and surprising. It is an album to be proud of. Overall the cd is of a good quality, well produced with a lot of clarity. The music is a combination of metal and rock, so called ‘power hard rock’. A mysterious intro followed by pure power. Welcome to the land of Godiva. Virtuous guitar power with good solo’s and beautiful harmonies. Perfect. Wake up your neighbours ‘cause ‘Godiva’ is coming.
