Last summer seventies prog rock band Alquin hit the road with their second reunion tour (their first was in 1995) called One More Night. The Zoetermeer gig in De Boerderij was filmed and is now available on DVD. One thing that strikes you when you’re watching this disc is the great interaction between the six band members on the small stage. It’s simply a joy to watch these guys having the time of their lives, playing the music they love. The band chose to have a plain lightshow, which proved to be a wise choice. The pictures are steady and clear, the usual overdone blues or reds are completely lacking. The extra feature of the disc is a documentary about the band.

Usually this is the boring part of a DVD, but not this time. The one hour feature is definitely worth watching. Several members of the band give you a clear insight in the history of Alquin. Therefore they made use of new as well as old interviews. Especially the old footage, including parts from the 1974 Great Britain tour, is great fun to watch. This is not just because of the great haircuts and beards! This is in conclusion a great DVD to watch for everyone that loves great music. You definitely get the feeling of being in De Boerderij yourself and that is what DVD is actually about.
