“Fall into madness” is Steel Attacks’ second album. At first glance, the album sounds like another run-of-the-mill Power Metal product. The usual double bass salvo’s, hammering guitar riffs and choir choruses fill the air almost instantly upon inserting the disc in the CD-player. Immediately names like Rhapsody, Blind Guardian and Helloween popped up. But Steel Attacks’ Fairy Metal turns into much more after a couple of spins. The Swedish band is influenced by other bands like Iron Maiden (elements of ‘Clearing the mind’) and Iced Earth too. Though talking about stereotypical artwork and pictures, these guys know that same guy/girl that draws all the genre’s CD-covers. So don’t expect a surprise hiding in the packaging.
But the music is all that counts. | |
“Fall into Madness” contains some pretty catchy Power/Heavy/Epic Metal tunes. Nice powerful guitar riffs that tend to echo in your head long after the song has ended. And of course the ‘singalong’ choruses that cannot be missed on an album of this genre. Good representatives to experience a sheer fall into musical madness are songs like ‘Guardians’, ‘Holy Swordsmen’ and ‘Fireballs’. The album contains in total 9 magical tales of beasts, evil warriors and of course the holy swordsmen. As one colleague of mine recently wrote; you’ll either love it or you’ll hate it. If any of the above makes your blood boil with a deep craving, go buy this one! If not, well, there’s still hope for you, I suppose… (Antoine) |
