At Graspop metal I had the honour to hear some songs from Bringer Of Blood. I remember quite well that the title track sounded really brutal. After listening the album time after time I can tell that this applies for most of tracks.

I really like the first two albums of Six Feet Under: Haunted and Warpath. The combination of the mid-tempo guitar riffs of Allen West and the throat of Chris Barnes was great. After the departure of Allen West the music got faster and the magic decreased a little bit. But some of this magic has returned with Bringer Of Blood. On this album they have slowed down a bit and the typical Six Feet Under mid-tempo riffs are more dominant once again. Although the power of the first couple of albums can never be matched, this new album comes close.

Songs as “My hatred”, “Murdered In The Basement” or “When The Skin Blue” are really convincing and sound like the old Six Feet Under.

The track “Amerika The Brutal” is a deviant track. Hardcore influenced guitar riffs and political lyrics. Two items I really don’t like in death metal. These kinds of tracks are a bit superfluous, although I must admit that the track doesn’t sound bad. As a bonus there’s also a hidden track, a jam with bass and drum and some additional vocals.

Listening to this album of Six Feet Under is all at your own risk. For when the hatred of the blood bringer is unleashed, you might be murdered in your own basement.
