Italy. Power metal. That’s the association I have with Italy and rock music. But there is more, as I discovered lately. Italians do know grunge and they do know nu-metal. B-Code is the living proof of that.
B-Code, founded in 2002 by 5 Italians (how surprising is that?). Each member probably has some cd’s at home of Alice in Chains, Godsmack or a random nu-metal cd. Personally, they remind me of our Dutch pride Frozen Sun (Most underrated band ever!) and also of the German band Thorn Eleven. | |
This four track cd is everything but original. With every riff, every vocal line and every drum pattern, that certain feeling crawls up my back, saying: “Where do I know this from?”.
It’s that lack of originality that kills B-Code. Cause they can all play and the singer sure can sing some tones, but they should do more with it, instead of turning into a secondhand grunge/nu-metal band.
