Another new band on Osmose, Demonized are by no means newcomers in the extreme metal scene. All members have gained experience in other bands, including (Mexican) brutal death grinders Disgorge and Ravager. Demonized however is not a death grind band but a band that combines key elements of death metal as well as certain ideas from black metal.

The self titled debut of these Mexican demon worshippers sounds a bit like Dark Funeral playing death metal at a slower pace but with even more brutality. The vocals are divided into guttural grunts and a blacklike rasp.

The foundation of Demonized’s music is a sturdy mix of death metal with hints of black metal and has a real old school feeling to it.

This is part due to the production, which is suitable for the subject and the extremity of Demonized but is not always strong enough to satisfy the demanding listener. I myself have always valued feeling and atmosphere above technical and productional perfection so I’m satisfied with the sound.

For a debut the outcome is surprisingly strong, the band already have established their own sound and thus their own place in the metal scene. Backed by Osmose they should be able to gain some popularity both in the America`s as well in Europe.
