From beautiful piano ballads to rockers in the line of Dream Theater, all of them performed with excellent quality. This duo from New Jersey has succeeded in grading the level of melodical rock releases up quite a bit. Drummer David Garcia also plays keyboards on the album, whereas guitarist Bob Gilmartin takes care of all the string parts. Besides this, they also did a very good job in sharing the vocal parts.

The years of working together sure have payed off in high standard compositions and performance throughout the whole album.

Although I can’t discover a real milestone type song, there is not one beneath the line of constant quality either. From youth heroes (and references) Rush, Pink Floyd, Kansas, and Marillion, Kansas comes out pretty well. Besides that the aforementioned Dream Theater and some Boston influences can be heard also. In combination with the clear production and attention for melody - yet with a lot of power - this album is one of the best recent releases in the genre.
