Certain good things are bound to come back. The bio mentions influences of Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and Dio. Listening to this album can only confirm that. In song writing, as well as sound this comes very close to (mostly) Rainbow. Playing the CD, the die-hard Rainbow fans will sing along different (classic) lyrics than the ones on this album. Still I won’t go as far as saying this is simply stealing song material, or being a clone. Astral Doors have very recognisable influences, but their songs sure stand.

The musicians of Astral Doors are all very skilled, and having made a record like this, they must love the work they do.

The excellent guitars and the vocals which are somewhere in between Dio and Graham Bonnett, lifts the music to an even higher level. Finally, even the song titles remind of their examples: “Slay The Dragon”, “Rainbow In Your Mind” and “Man On The Rock”.

Well in my opinion it’s not a shame to be compared to Rainbow or Dio, and therefore I think that people who like the aforementioned bands, can buy this record without fear.
