German sandpaper-voiced metal icon Udo Dirkschneider, former lead singer of Accept, is still very much alive. With his last live album “Nailed To Metal”, U.D.O. is giving a nice overview of the history of the lead singer (and long time companion & guitarist Stefan Kaufmann). Songs from the rich and glorious days of Accept, as well as some highlights of the U.D.O. solo career, are on this live registration.

Fortunately the album “Restless And Wild” is very well represented with the title song, “Princess Of The Dawn”, and “Fast As A Shark” (without the Tirol-scratching needle intro).

Also the milestone “Balls To The Walls” is on this raging live registration. Minor point is the way, way too long, whining drum solo. The sound is pretty good although the voice of Dirkschneider sometimes drowns out the whole (superb playing) band.
