Hell yeah, what more do we need to say about this Finnish cult metal act. Over ten years now Impaled Nazarene produces quality metal releases full of satan, death and decay. Who doesn`t remember cult releases as “Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz” or “Suomi Finland Perkele”. And now after a two year silence Impaled is back with the brand new “All That You Fear”. And as far as my ears can conclude Impaled has come up with a quality release that can easily compete with their previous release “Absence Of War Does Not Mean Peace”, although I thought that was one of their best so far.
Their typical combination between black, thrash and heavy metal is still present and also the Impaled melodies belong to the ingredients of this fine metal meal (“Goat Seeds Of Doom”). On the whole this release has become very well balanced due to the variation in rhythms and guitar riffs (especially some of the crusty parts). | |
Impaled proves that different styles of extreme metal can easily be combined, although I doubt that their will be other bands capable of doing such a thing. And that’s exactly what makes them so special.
Listen to great songs as “Armageddon Death Squad” or “Even More Pain” (with the catchy chorus), and you can only agree that this will be one of the better extreme metal releases this year, although we’ve had quite a lot already. Vocally Slutifer rasps and screams the entire album like he always does, and the production really is perfectly balanced (done in Astia Studio and mixed and mastered at Finnvox). People, go check this motherfucker out. (Teun) |
