Fans of Dutch metal band Mennen will have to wait ‘till March 2004 for the new studio album to be released. Untill then they’ll have to do with this re-release of Mennen’s self titled debut album (1994). Since most fans already have this cd in their collection, the band decided to add four bonustracks. The first one “Lost” was previously released on the Japanese edition of the debut album. The last three are original demo recordings of “The One Ring”, “World Affair” and “House For Sale”.

“The One Ring” was not included on the original version of the album.

Although these demo’s are of a high quality, I doubt if I’ll be listening to the tracks again. This is simply because I feel that metal can only be good if it is well produced and sounds technically perfect. Demo’s usualy lack warmth and strength. These demo’s are no exception. I must admit that listening to the album made me long for more. And that’s the intention of re-releasing this album.
