It’s 2004.
‘Best wishes’.
‘Best wishes? Fuck you and your best wishes. Give me a tip for an album I can look forward to!’
‘Let me see. There are two. Remembering Never and Scarve’
‘What was the last one called?’
‘Scarve’
‘Scarve? What a lousy name’
‘That’s true. But they are French’
‘Metal from France?’
‘Yes’
‘Nu-metal? Like Pleymo, Watcha or Artsonic?’
‘No. Technical thrash metal with a mechanic edge’
‘That sounds interesting. Like Fear Factory or something?’
‘More like Strapping Young Lad, mixed with Meshuggah and Fear Factory, reminds me also of the Mnemic album that came out last year, only more aggressive, .’
‘Oh, I liked that one!’
‘Then you probably will like this one too! It has a lot of cool solo’s, technical parts. | |
And also some brutal vocals as well as catchy choruses. Just check out the song “Irradiant”. And in “Asphyxiate” are some brutal parts that make Fear Factory sound like an childrens choir. Oh, by the way, Fredrik from Meshuggah sings on that song.’
‘Cool. That alone is enough reason to buy the album’
‘It sure is. But if you think they only play brutal stuff you are very wrong. “The Perfect Disaster” is a pretty intelligent slow song with a lot of atmosphere.’
‘Ok, I’m almost convinced…’
‘Well, the production is done by Daniel Bergstrand. I guess that kinda says enough.’
‘Ok. I am convinced, oh and best wishes!’
