This might be one of the shortest reviews I’ve ever written. This is on the one hand because it could turn out as a real spoiler, on the other hand because I have absolutely no idea of how to describe Swan Christy’s album “Julian”. Playing this album is more than listening to music. It appeals to emotions that lack in the music I usually listen to. Above all, “Julian” surprises, because of the compositions but even more because of un-orthodox way of defining music. | |
In my opinion Swan Christy shippers between brilliance and madness. It has as a matter of fact some musical references with the band Madness as well. Just imagine Madness making the soundtrack for the movie Reservoir Dogs and adding strange pieces of music like the episode of Friends where Ross played his keyboard. I told you I had a hard time defining this music. “Julian” comes recommended, but only to open-minded music lovers. (Geert) |
