Yet another power metal act from Germany but thankfully not as boring and generic as their many counterparts. A glance at the inlay card and titles of songs gave me that "here we go again" feeling but this album has some nice arrangements and enough originality to keep a listener interested.

With the first song on the album (not counting the one minute intro) "Angel Of Death" you immediately hear a tamed-Rammstein meets Within Temptation sound which works nicely. It’s not a slayer cover either (as I first thought). Vocals by Bernhard Weiss are thankfully sung without an English-is-not-my-mother-tongue accent.

Lyrics tend to be cheesy at times however, giveaway track titles being "Time Machine" and "Wings Of Freedom".

This album’s saving grace is its diversity in a usually bland genre. The outro to track five, "Lost In The Darkness" has just a hint of Cradle Of Filth to it while the following track has a Van Halen meets Iron Maiden feel to it.

In a genre where I usually "run to the hills" to get away from, this has given me hope, and if I think this what must a fan of the music think? I’d check it out if I were you…
