Album nr.6 from brutal death metallers Fleshcrawl. What has changed?
Nothing. They just bring out an album every now and then, which you can listen to with a good glass of Warsteiner.
Formed in 1987, Fleshcrawl is one of the true old school metal bands. Still hanging around and producing loud metal. Respect for that.
A checklist on ‘Made of Flesh’. The production: excellent. Perfect sound. Especially the guitar sound is cool. Only the vocals could have been lowered down a bit. But it’s cool.
The drums are heavy too and sometimes sounds like teutonic punches. The guitar lines are mixed in pretty well, and with the swedish taste in it, with the familiar german thrash metal. They deliver us a nice piece of metal. | |
The songs: alright. Just like Fleshcrawl always does, they brought a couple of catchy swedish sound-a-like riffs with them (as you can hear in ‘Beneath the Dying Sun’). The whole album is full with stuff like that. Cool.
A cool record? Yes, but on the other hand, there are no surprises anymore. They consolidate their qualification as ‘top German metal band’ and nothing more. It’s not like this is the new shit or something like that. Just another cool record. And it is cool to hear such an old school death metal record.
Highlights? “Made of flesh’(check out the intro!), ‘Damned In Fire” and ‘Flesh Bloody Flesh (no, it has nothing to do with an certain Cavalera)’.
Count the `cools`
