Finally. The new Descendents album is on the way. To get us in the mood Fat Wreck released this four track EP with two tracks from the upcoming album (“Nothing With You” and “’merican”) and two tracks only released on this EP (“Here With Me” and “I Quit”). It’s been seven years since the band released anything. Busy as producers or doing nothing they have kept fans waiting impatiently. Thank you for that, by the way.

Milo Auckerman’s pointy lyrics are again as sharp and ironic as before. Serious but with a wink.

I mean with a title like ‘merican” you can’t go wrong. Their melodic punkrock with guitar leads, jumping bass lines still sounds as fresh as back in the beginning of their career. Now, two tracks don’t tell you much about the new album, only that both songs are probably even more melodic. Keep that up for about 30 minutes and I’ll be content. More than that, If you are able to not put a song like “I Quit” on your album, I have no choice but to expect the best on the coming realease.
