Sometimes cd’s just have it, that indescribable feeling that everything is right. Songs, production, atmosphere, technique, everything. The new cd of the Finnish band Woods Of Belial has it. Songs, production, atmosphere, technique or to be short: everything. Although grunts, screams and synth-parts are deeply related to Limbonic Art and guitars sound like the brothers of My Dying Bride, this mix is absolutely dark, depressive and evil. Exactly what you expect to hear when you’re actually walking through the woods of Belial.

This cd is definitely not for the fainthearted, to use a stupid word. If you are a happy person and think that a sunny day is everything you could wish for, hmm, leave this cd alone. It will bring you to madness, unmatched in your life so far. And if I tell you this cd is sloooow, must I really mention this is depressive doom? Great cd! Although I have to mention the fact Deimos XIII was recorded during a period of five years. In a time range like that I couldn’t expect any different. But the result is perfect.
