In heaven and you. A desparate man and his drumcomputer. The man is named Alex Vajello.
I do not know the name of his drumcomputer. I got a 6 song EP in my mailbox the other day.
No cover. No biography. The only thing that rested me to do was inserting the cd in my cd player.
The first song is chaos. Noise. Sounds that will make your headache grow like a regular mcdonalds customer. Fuck the first song.
Well. The second song is better. Dark wave music with a sort of ‘Gathering feeling.’
After that, it stays on the Dark Wave Sector, but with an experimental overdose where a regular Junk would o.d. on.
The music is dynamic. Chaotic. Experimental. Weird. Spacey. All these words match.
’Dead Girls and Insects’ proves what kind of diversity you can put in a song. | |
Beats, some sort of semi merzbow-noise, a melody and an female voice. All in one song. Impressive? Not really. I get the feeling that the songs are just some separate parts that got put together. It does not sound as a whole.
I am also not impressed by Alex’ voice. It’s too fragile. You can compare it to the vocalist of Katatonia, but where Katatonia has an strong musical base, In Heaven And You just have some beats and spherical sounds that creates the basis for this music.
I do like experimental music. But not this kind of music and not this way. I guess dark wave fans that likes electronic and who also likes experimental music will walk away with this album. But I do not.
