Lots of drummers like to expose their arsenal of skills in a nutshell, when they’re given a chance. It mostly leads to a fusion-type product. This album, which features drummers in the spotlight, is not different. Loads of fascinating fiddling on drum kits, resulting in jazz-rock and fusion ‘songs’.

No doubt about it: The musicians supporting the world class drummers on this album are also contributing some stunning technical qualities, quite fitting the standard of names like Terry Bozzio (Zappa), Bill Bruford (Yes), and Simon Phillips (Toto).

Still this work of (technical) art will only appeal to a select audience.
