Despite the fabulous packaging, this cd is one to forget as fast as possible. When I received the promo package of Psychotears I was impressed by the professional slipcover and booklet and as I found out it was a self-released album my expectations grew even higher.

What a disappointment it was to listen to this cd. The music is standard decent heavy/power metal with some good riffs, pounding drums and the occasional guitar solo and is, in all its unoriginality and predictability not too bad. But what makes this cd an ‘avoid it like the plague’ cd is the hideous singing of vocalist/guitarist Spyros.

He makes the whole band look bad with his terrible singing and his very present accent. I would advise him to stick to playing the guitar and finding a real singer because this is really, really bad.

I could go on and praise the multimedia part of the cd, which includes the biography, lyrics and even a video all wrapt in an impressive flash presentation but I won’t. This is unbearable to listen to and there are far better cd’s out there that are worth your attention.
