If we are to believe the biography Dunkelgrafen are one of the most popular German black metal acts around. The band was founded in 1995 and Triumph des Fleisches is their third offering but it`s doubtful whether this new album will increase the band`s popularity in the rest of Europe. Although presented as unconventional, uncompromising and raw black metal, qualifications like unoriginal, uninspiring and boring would have been more suitable. Songs like `In Nomine Satanas` (haven`t heard that one before..), `Sklabengott` and the titletrack itself just drag on and on.

There`s really no variation in either tempo or riffs and therefore no elements of tension are present in the songs. Even though it is pretty hard to come up with an original riff or melody-line nowadays as pretty much all has been done over and over again, not being able to make any of the six songs (`Einleitung` and `Der Herr der Hölle sei Miteuch` not included as these are the intro and outro) rise above mediocrity, makes you wonder why this album has actually been released.
