"One cannot achieve greatness if not rules by illusion". A bold statement but right in every way. A mysterious self made musician wrote and recorded an EP without musical limits. "With the most important element the depiction of athmosphere where all instrument/sounds fuse together." True again...the music on this album is experimental, it cannot be labelled as a certain style, it melts Gothic, Synthesizer, Metal and New Age to a whole new concept; VLE. Music that was made with the simple use of a 4 track recorder in the beginning which later evolved to this album. Drums from a keyboard, simple guitars, Black/Gothic vocals, it all give this project an unique athmosphere. | |
OK, production wise this is a poor sounding record but when you get used to it, it picks you up and mesmerizes you till the end.
The convincing proof that record labels will be less important in the near future because people/musicians can and will release their music themselves thru the internet and CD burners.
A worldly appreciated an well known musician (J. Anderson - Yes) predicted this already a few years ago and VLE proves it. I hope he will get the chance to jump in a proffessional recording studio to explore the many possibilities that lay there and I`m sure he will amaze me again with `Book Of Illusions; Chapter 2`.
