Yeah! Grab your pint! Tankard is back! And they’ve got something to celebrate! Because guitarist Andy is with Tankard for 6 years now, and drummer Olaf even for a decade, they’re here to party. And that’s what they do best!

After B-day in 2002, Beast Of Bourbon is their latest release. And after 20 years they still know how to party! When you see track names like “Die With A Beer In Your Hand”, “Alien Revenge” and “Dead Men Drinking”. You’re already partly pleased. And when you see the great cover (a gremlin-like alien riding a dog), you’re already happy for having this CD, if it’s good or not.

But it’s sure important if it’s good or not. So I’m telling you not to worry, because this album is very very nice. This Thrash ‘n’ Fun (as they like to call it) still hits the spot where you lose all control and join the pit.

“Slipping From Reality” and “Die With A Beer In Your Hand” are the best in my opinion, and the closing track “We’re Coming Back” reveals some punk influences as well!

With drummer Olaf not scared to use his double bass, vocalist Gerre inciting the listener to watch them live, bassist Frank using his bass over Mach1, and guitarist Andy with some insane solos, these Germans are not planning to stop their career (something “We’re Coming Back” proves). This just can’t go wrong: a great album cover, great lyrics (alcoholic aliens with unstoppable love for German beer brewed in 1516), great song titles and a hell of a lot fun. This album is sure a good one in the race for best Tankard album.
