"Purification" is the debut CD from Denmark`s Anubis Gate (feat. former Invocator and Prophets Of Doom members), and the thing that grips your attention first is the cover artwork itself, meant for representing the gateway to Ancient Egypt`s Underworld in a way elegantly authentic yet entrancingly mysterious! Now that I additionally heard the 10 tracks on the album, I can tell you that they rock as well: like a 51-minute unforgettable journey throughout the catacombs of time, visualized by delightfully simplistic but still enigmatically deep synth parts, awesome guitar leads and thick riffage, powerful vocals and moderate, kind of solemn drumming.

Apparently, the guys of Anubis Gate didn`t aim at creating something utterly innovative and unconventional, but still you can feel that they are at least well experienced enough to make such an outstanding and majestic Progressive Metal release!
The production, on its turn, is faultless too, and the man responsible for it is no one else other than Jacob Hansen, who is known for his work also with Illdisposed, Ancient, Raunchy, Manticora, Falconer and Mercenary!
