If there was a competition for the most unfortunate death metal band from Holland, Polluted Inheritance would have finished first. From heavy traffic accidents to record companies that went down or didn’t invest as much as needed to promote a band like this. But now there finally seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Rokarola Records signed Polluted and their already third release “Into Darkness” saw the light of life. Polluted Inheritance was found in the early nineties and in the meantime Polluted released “Ecocide” (`92) and “Betrayed” (`97). After the classical guitar intro the band hits of with their fifty minutes of technical death thrash metal with even some progressive influences. The songs are well structured and very diverse due to the many rhythm and riff changes. | |
But returning themes make the songs recognizable in some kind of a way (“Seal my Fate”). An other great thing about this release is the perfect instrumental abilities of the separate musicians, like their drummer for instance. But to give an indication, I guess you could see Polluted Inheritance as a combination between Death with the song structures of Morbid Angel and Pestilence. But Polluted Inheritance has their own face. Especially the vocals and of course the typical guitar riffs (“Hypocrisy”). Fans of technical death metal have to check this out. If it isn’t in the record store then at the X-Mass Festival in the 013 in Tilburg. (Teun) |
