Some high quality AOR on Omega from Alyson Avenue. Through the female vocals a link with Heart is quickly made, but the music is more plain melodic rock orientated and less experimental. (Despite performing various style covers in the “surviving” days) Fortunately keyboards do not overrule the guitars, and the production contains enough balls to prevent this album from being background music.

The clear voice of Anette Blyckert sometimes seems to hold back, and makes you wonder if she goes all the way performing on stage. Besides this minor point it’s hard to believe this band found it hard to get a record deal: it would have been a goldmine in the gospel circuit. This album sure is worth a try for listeners of melodic rock.
