Sometimes I really wander how a band can get a record deal with the music they play. I guess Uhrilehto is the perfect example. The band was formed in 1996 and released 3 demos before they recorded “Viha Ja Ikuinen Vitutus” (“Hate Eternal”). After the short intro the band starts of with “Surman Kylma Kutso”, a mid tempo black metal song with keyboards. The drummer really sounds not tight and he probably is learning how to count. But the strange thing is that in more up tempo parts he sounds really tight (triggers?). The rest of the musicians know how to play their instruments but their music sounds way to cliche.

Vocally you can hear black screams and whispering parts. The production isn’t that well. But I don’t feel to fall back into a discussion that has been spoken out many times before (underground or not). Uhriletho claims to make music as the old Rotting Christ (the feel perhaps), Samael and Emperor. But they never reach the geniality of above called bands. More innovative songs and a better production are a must for the future.
