First time listening - What??! Second time listening - well, ok, I have to review it. This record is devoted to classic heavy metal so much that it even could have been released in the mid-eighties. Has nothing changed since then??? Here you can even hear all the standpoints of the style and all the influences of the band: Iron Maiden, Saxon, Judas Priest, Accept, and Halloween. But this Italian band was formed in 1990!!! Throughout all these years they have played live gigs all over Italy, made demos, received good reaction from critics, impressed Nico McBrain (legendary Iron Maiden drummer) for choosing them to serve him as a band for his Total McBrain Damage Tour 2002/2003, and only in 2004 they release their first full-length album "The Last Command". In a few words: guitars here (performed by Stefano Pomer, Gabriele Bruni) are good enough within the framework of this style; rhythm section makes a solid partnership with them, vocals are not that good (maybe it would be better if it was somewhat produced? More carefully, more closely?).

The album is conceived to be a conceptual narration about "bleeding Europe during World War II", "a darkened near future". War, darkness, terror, sorrow. What is the whole impression of the album? It depends on the point of view: it`s really out of time; sounds like an anachronism, but on the other side, it’s just like spittle into the face of the music industry. And old school metal fans will enjoy "The Last Command ". There are a lot of European bands playing this style of music these days (with more or less quality). In this case, this album (as the others) can be considered as a promise, a forerunner of the revival of the classic heavy metal style. Anyway let`s see what time will bring, hopefully their second release will be clearer and more independent in musical sense. Third time listening - well, why not?
