You don’t get a lot of records as divers as this one anymore. Hypnos69 is one of those bands that really can’t be pigeonholed, which is a good thing. Big fat stoner riffs, spaced out jams, calm psychedelic songs, country rock influenced stuff, it’s all there. All styles the band covers have one thing in common though: It’s all late sixties/early seventies influenced. From Pink Floyd to Led Zeppelin and more. They’re skilled musicians but they don’t show off at all. These Belgians are lucky to have found the Rock and Roll Radio label (or the other way around, I don’t know).

There aren’t many labels around that will sign such a diverse band because they’re hard to ‘market’. So, all hails to the Belgians then! Ok, back to the record. The production is perfect. Every song has its own specific sound that fits very well. Most songs are written well, though they tend to be a bit on the long side. The lyrics are a little cliché and not written in the best of English. But overall, this is a very fine album that keeps amazing me time after time.
