For the metal heads of you who don’t know who Blaze is, here is a short introduction. Blaze is the band of Blaze Baily, who has been the singer of the legendary band Iron Maiden for five years and recorded the albums: “The X-factor”(1995) and “Virtual XI”(1998). After his split with Iron Maiden in 1999 he started his own band. With this band he made two studio albums and one live album. And now he finished his third studio album with Blaze.

Baily went through some personal issues the past years. He had alcohol problems and a serious depression. About all the problems he faced he wrote lyrics for this album, turning it into a great varied metal album.

“Alive”, the first song on the album is a really good starter. With the song “Ten Seconds” you can sing along with the chorus after listening to it only once. The title track is also worth mentioning. As you listen to Baily’s voice you can hear that he really means what he sings. The last song on Blood & Belief is called “Soundtrack Of My Life”. The title says it all: it’s about his life. Baily has a great metal voice. But not only his voice is great, the guitars on the album sound very good. There are only ten songs on Blood & Belief but that’s no problem because all ten good songs are well worth it. So, beware for Blaze on the summer festivals!
