Clearlight’s ‘Infinite Symphony’ is an exciting album featuring six mainly instrumental tracks. These tracks are averaging about ten minutes and are titled `Movement I` to `Movement VI`. Coming up with these titles will not have been difficult because the music on this album is probably best described as traveling music. You can imagine yourself exploring the world, climbing mountains, floating down rivers and discovering lost villages. I know this might sound a little bit too much new age (especially considering the use of flute, violin and saxophones), but let me assure you that climaxes of the tracks definitely do rock. | |
The only song that features lyrics is `Movement III`, a track I for one can’t get enough of. The song is based on the epic Finnish poem Kavelava and without a doubt inspired by early Genesis. Shaun Guerin his vocals are astonishing like Gabriel, as is the music. I can’t help hitting the skip back button every time the song has finished. Writing the five instrumental tracks, all about ten minutes long, without one single weak point is an almost unbelievable effort. ‘Infinite Symphony’ is an album that is exciting from start to finish.
