Now that stoner rock has all but died, bands are looking beyond the Kyuss and Black Sabbath idiom. Dexter... is one of those who succeed in expanding the horizon of modern day 70`s influenced rock. There’s a distinctive blues rock feel, there’s a hint of Americana and a little quirkiness every now and then. The songs are well written and most of the arrangements are pretty interesting. The lyrics aren’t in the best of English which can be annoying.

Musically there’s little to complain; 70`s rock that isn’t limited to a couple of riffs. These guys know the importance of songwriting. Considering this is their first full length (there’s a 7" out on Free Bird Records as well) I’m very curious how this band will develop. They certainly belong in the category ‘promising’.
